This was my first real biking adventure - and would take me through hundreds of miles of the Alaskan wilderness.

This is the story first tour of the Balkan, leading me from Austria to Italy, then to Slovenia, to Croatia, to Bosnia-Hercegovina, back to Croatia, then on to Montenegro and Albania - where I had to give up the trip due to the poor roads and continue the journey in southern Italy.

Having taken a full month off work (the month of June, plus a day or two in May), I decided to head towards Romania. Well, "decided" is good, a day before I left I still wasn't sure where I was heading - then I looked at the weather forecast for Europe and it was definitely the easter side of the continent that looked nicer.

Even the longest trip starts with the first step – says an old Chinese saying. So it was that Peter, Kalman and I left my place in Vienna with our fully packed bikes for the nearby train station and soon we were sitting on a very crowded train to Gmuend in Lower Austria, close to the Czech border.

This is the story of my trip from Debrecen all the way to the Caucasus in 2016. So back in June 2016 I had a week to spare and as always, decided to go biking, this time the destination was Hungary.

As with most of my trips, the one to Morocco was completely unplanned. I did yearn for some sunshine in the bleak November days - so I jumped on a plane to sunny Malaga in the south of Spain, in Andalusia. This is the story of my trip - I hope you will enjoy reading through it just as much as I loved biking through this magical country.

This is a story of my 6-week bike trip to Vietnam, a very exciting country in South-East Asia. It was an “epic” journey – epic, as I rode somewhere between 3,500 and 4,000 kilometers, rode to the northern border with China, the western one to Laos and Cambodia and also experienced long sections of the eastern coast of the South China Sea, part of the Pacific Ocean.

The story of my bike trip this summer – from Austria all the way to Corsica, with a couple of detours here and there. I did have two fixed destinations in mind - my folks were on vacation on Istria in the town of Rabac and my then-partner and I were to meet in Venice for four days.

This is the story of a 3-day biking trip in the so-called Mostviertel of Austria, the southwestern portion of Lower Austria, or Niederösterreich. I am fortunate of having a group of friends who love nature, are adventurous, enjoy good dining and each other’s company.

I ended up riding from Barcelona to Bilbao, both Spanish cities, so this is probably a Spanish blog. Well, partially true, but I also ended up riding in France and in Andorra - crossing borders multiple times.

Planned to reach Crete, but ended up somewhere else. This was in May of 2022 that I had this urge to do a longer bike ride. My parents were due to fly to Crete, to celebrate my Mum’s birthday during the last decade of May. I thought if I left around the beginning of May, I might make it all the way to Greece, probably to the port of Pireus next to Athens, where I would catch a ferry – and there I was (or would be).

This story is about my bike trip to Sicily in the summer of 2022. I would say it was quite an adventure as how I got to Sicily – so do bear with me (or don't, then just go forward to the first day...). I promise to spare you a lot of the details...

This blog is about my biking trip in Israel in February and March of this year. A bit different than the others - a lot shorter, carried out on a rental bike (which turned out to be quite expensive...), in winter time - when the days are really short. Still, it was a cool adventure, starting in the Golan Heights and then at the very north of the country, heading all the way south to Eilat.

This is the story of my trip to Georgia in the Caucasus in May and June of 2024.Actually, this has been my second trip to the region, the first one having been in 2016, by bike, where I cycled all the way from eastern Hungary (Debrecen), through Romania, Moldavia, Odessa in Ukraine - from where I landed in the city of Batumi - and then I crossed both Georgia and Armenia.

3,500 kilometers with lots of mountains in Austria and Switzerland and then through France. In the summer of 2024, I had a sudden urge of going on a longer ride – with a rather vague idea about the overall direction. Right until the start, I was contemplating on riding towards the east, targeting the Caucasus, but then I had both my parents and some friends of mine visiting Ireland, so I thought it might be a good idea to ride there and say hello to them.

This is the story of my trip in the fall of 2024, where I rode my bike from Bulgaria through Turkey all the way to Georgia, from where I jumped into a car and visited Northern Cyprus.

This was my first trip in 2025, a short ride, when I rode from Graz all the way down to Triest. Still, I shall blog about it.

On this trip, I biked with a friend, Levente, from the lakes in Salzkammergut to Innsruck - then continued alone over the Brenner Pass to Garda Lake

I rode through Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, North Macedonia to Greece.
