Somewhat to my surprise, I did find my clothes having been washed by the Argentinean life guards and they were drying, cramped out on a small net, on the balcony. Well, as I am writing this, I now know they will have won the soccer world cup, maybe they were doing it from karma - whatever. It would have taken a couple of hours to dry. I collected my damp clothes and left as fast as I could, never to return, Luckily, I found a laundry just a few hundred meters away where an electric drier took care of the issue.I was keen to ride to the top of Ragusa Ibla, so I dropped back the sane road as the evening before, when looking for the first apartment. It was a bit of a disappointment - as nice as the town looked in the sunset it was not as pretty a sight when up close.
Rolling downhill from the town, the brakes gave out a very unsettling noise - I was in need of new pads. After climbing up back to the "lower" town, I was lucky to have found a shop just before their lunch break, they were friendly and quickly took care of the issue. Now I was en-route to Modica, another major highlight. The road crossed a deep gorge via a very tall bridge - I stopped in the middle of it to look down at the deep valley.
Modica was also really impressive, similar to Ragusa.
There was a major church overlooking a hill cramped with houses. On its steps was a photo shooting of a model girl, dressed as a bridegroom. Learning from Ragusa, I enjoyed the view, but did not actually ride into the narrow streets.
Google took me now on some quiet and very adventurous roads - very steep at first, but the reward of rolling downhill definitely came later on.It was so that I reached Noto, very pretty, not as cramped as the other towns, for that, also quite touristy.
Here I found an amazing apartment, such a lovely change for the better, compared to the foxhole of the day before. I had a nice stroll in the evening - and had a wonderful sleep in the clean and tidy apartment.
