Epilogue
As I am writing this blog, the trip is already six months behind me. It was a really exciting trip, where when I woke up, I had no idea how the day would go on and when I went to sleep, it was somewhere completely different compared to the place where I had started in. I met so many nice people - not only my relatives who I have not seen in a while, but also Guy, who not only hosted me, but also smuggled in money into my bag;; Orr, who helped me with my bike and Shraga, Lola and Ranit, who gave assistance where I needed it. I swam in two seas - the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, rode through a desert, was up in the snow - and visited historic towns such as Jaffa and Acre/Akko. I was up at the very north of the country, next to the Lebanese and Syrian border, the at the very south, close to the Egyptian and Jordanian border. The food was a highlight, I could live on hummus and pita bread for the rest of my life (OK; some falafel and shoarma would also be nice). Financially, it was a bit of a disaster, next time I plan to take my bike with me, and also carry a tent and sleeping bag, to have a check on expenses.
Overall, it was a real experience - and all I can tell the people back in Israel is "shalom" and "toda raba"!!!
