Introduction
At the end of June 2025, I was thinking of a longer, one-month trip - with the destination being written in the stars. Having talked to a friend of mine, Levente, about this trip, he mentioned he would want to join, as least for the past of this trip.
Levente and I contemplated where start on this ride - and one possibility was Graz - as he had ridden all the way from Budapest to that city a few weeks prior, so it would have been logical continuing from there - with the destination being somewhere in the west. Looking at the map, however, showed that there were nothing but huge passes to the west of Graz - so after a bit of contemplation, we decided to go for an easier start - and that was to become the beginning our trip from Upper Austria, taking a train there from Vienna.
This is the story I will tell you about. We rode through many lakes in the region of Salzkammergut, then visited Salzburg. From there, we looped southwards and eventually arrived in Innsbruck. Alas, due to some obligation, Levente no longer was able to join me, he had to return to Budapest by train - and I rode on to Italy, over the Brenner Pass. I rode through Alto Adige (South Tyrol) and arrived to Lake Garda. Not just for Levente, even for me there were some obligations, so only after nine days, duty called me back to Vienna.

In the upcoming sections, I would like to show you the wonderful places this journey had led through - and the adventures that awaited us.
