Getting repaired
When I was finally fit for biking and the alcoholic vapors had disappeared, I thanked the family for their hospitality and started biking in the hilly area. What followed was a nice and lush forest, called Krim - and due to my bike issue, it was a rather tough fight. Reaching a bigger town, address unknown, I looked for a repair shop, where Matthias, the owner, went out of his way to get my bike repaired (so that I could climb even more mountains). He did not have the all the spare parts and he was so nice, that he took a brand new bike apart, that was waiting to be sold in his shop, just to get mine done. He spent not less than three hours trying to gather all the parts and making sure it all worked. Amazing! Such stories only happen in Eastern Europe...
Leaving the shop, I still had a big hill to climb to get to Postojna, a town famous for the its caves. I had been there two years ago, and visited some of the them, but not the main attraction - which is a train ride within the caves. I would do that the following day.Oh, I almost forgot to mention, it rained cats and dogs yet again, but I got lucky, as I was just devouring my dinner (as to where and what I was eating is now lost for the history books). But after dinner, luck evaded me, as I got a flat tire, which is really "fun" when you are on a steep, narrow road, which of course was completely wet...so I somehow managed to change the tires in like 20 minutes, which is by far a record for me, I am not very good at these things. So there I was, in Postojna, having met some incredibly people, Andrea, Marek with his friends and family, Matthias, the railway employee - and even though their is still rain in the forecast, I have to say the first few days had more adventures then the months preceding my trip (which were spent working very hard).
It remains a mystery where I had slept that night, but then not knowing this fact will probably have very little bearing over the course of history.
