Day 10

We chatted on the ride and arrived to Fairbanks after a 4-hour drive, a town of 30,000 people. I just now looked at pictures and have no recollection whatsoever of the city, it looks surprisingly modern. Oh well.

I must have started biking in the afternoon and made just 55 miles that day, reaching a small town called Nenana.

Now I was about 300 miles out of Anchorage and could get a good guess as to when I would reach the town. My plan was not to spend time in town, but a catch a flight back to Seattle, so I booked a flight for Day 14, sometime in the afternoon. I think it was less than $200, so half the price of the ferry.
