April 4 - Water, Water, Everywhere

I woke up quite early and even though there were about 5 warning signs not to bathe, due to rip currents, went in for a swim - there was no current to be felt. Right above the beach was a nice lighthouse built by the French.

For the most part that day, the road would lead right next to the ocean - there was beautiful spots. Often, I thought of just stopping and staying there for a couple of days, but then, at the same time, I was also curious of what the next curve in the road would hold, so it was just for the duration of a quick dip that I stopped. Below are some of the nicest pictures of the day.

I could have spent a week or so in the silky waters

In the afternoon, I turned away from the salt water towards fresh water: I was told that there was an amazing waterfall about 5 kilometers off the road. I went for it - in the heat, I rode into the road, parked my bike, paid an entrance fee, hiked for about half an hour and got to some rocks where a river was coming down. It was nice - but considering all the effort, I was not really impressed. One could jump in from the top of the rocks, I decide not to, I left it to the other tourists, the majority of these were from Russia. There was one nice thing: I swam into a pool, at the end of which was a cavern, into which the water was falling from above. It gave me a wonderful neck massage. This was my experience with Ba Ho Waterfalls, not too bad, but nothing to kill yourself for.

Later, I got to the city of Nha Trang, I rode right through it. A bit outside town, I saw a local Buddhist temple, with people praying and chanting religious songs.

I had some dinner at a local restaurant, then found a motel to sleep at, the hosts were very friendly, though windowless rooms do not belong to my favorite types of accommodation. That day it was also around 100 kilometers that I rode.
