Tuesday, June 11 - Day 22

My host picked me up around 3:30 and by 4 am, I was at the airport. Naively, I stood in a line, which said "police control". It turned out that was meant for just Georgian nationals - I found this out when a seemingly non-Georgian couple (they were from Slovakia, as I found out later) walked right past the queue and went straight for the check-in. I did the same and was checked in within seconds. Well, I must have been sleepy, usually I am the one finding shorter lines.

Now came security - there were four or five planes leaving, meaning roughly 1,000 passengers - and just one lane was open. It took a long time to get through security, the silver lining was that I did not have to wait for a long time before boarding - quite the contrary, the flight was already in the middle of boarding.

On the plane, there was a young Georgian girl next to me, she spoke perfect English, so we chitchatted for a while, before her falling asleep. Talking about sleep, the sun was shining from the east and the contour of a lady sitting a few rows ahead of me cast a funny shadow on the overhead bin.

Funny shadow

I am more of a window-seat guy and had a great view - another aircraft was cruising next to us.

Air race

Back in Vienna, pretty much everything was on schedule, I got back to town by a RailJet - then visited my parents.

Well, this is how my three-week trip ended. I did write an epilogue, feel free to read that.
