Wednesday, August 11

A very pleasant day, somewhat overcast, not too hot, which I spent on the little beach. There were only a dozen people or two and we were watched by two life guards – seems there is enough tax-payer money here. To cover myself from the sun, I pitched the rain fly of the tent and laid beneath it when the sun looked out from the cloud layer. I recall I was the only one who actually went swimming, I swam out to the mouth of the bay, to the open water. Later in the afternoon, I rode to the small town of Sopela, not much to tell you about it. Once again, I pitched my tent.

Talking about being disturbed, I was fast asleep when hearing voices, coming closer and closer, with torch light, I even heard some metallic clicks. Oh, is this the cops coming to arrest me? No, it was a group of star gazers, looking for the perseids, the meteor shower. Apparently, I pre-reserved the best spot for this. I was mildly irritated, as they stayed for a couple of hours – so did not get the best sleep that night.

Here you can see that I did not even ride for 10 kilometers that day.
