In the morning I visited the city, of course made an outing to the Guggenheim Museum – however, did not have time to actually visit it. The reason was that I had to find a place that would help box my bike – it took some time, but found a place that agreed to it for €40 (if I recall correctly). There was a large statue of a puppy made of flowers...
I did ride up to Mount Artxanda, offering views of the town from above and rode down a long way back to town.
After the ride, I brought my bike to the store that would pack it – after this, I hailed a cab to bring the bike box to the apartment, then strolled the city on foot. I was being more and more impressed.
In the evening, I went for a big walk, where I met a biker, then one more and then one more. It turned out they were participants of a 10-day bike race. At nine in the evening, these bikers were about to embark on a 3,000-kilometer ride (yes, that is 300 km per day – a bit more than I was doing, rain or shine). I watched the start, being somewhat envious.
The night was not the best one, as I was unable to pre-order a cab with a large trunk. I spoke with various taxi service, they mentioned on a Sunday morning they would not be able to guarantee such a vehicle.
Here you can see the trip in Google Maps, it was about 20 kilometers, with 300 meters of climbing and 300 meters of descending.
