Day 7 - May 12 - Monteblanche
I left camp (well, the garden of my friendly hosts) and soon reached Čajniçe, the last town in Bosnia just short of Montenegro, high up on a hill. There is an important monastery, visited by pilgrims from all over the area.
Leaving town, the road started climbing and I came to the border to Montenegro. I first came to the Bosnian control. The first guy had his fly open (apologies), the second one spoke perfect English and even gave me his hotspot, so I could communicate with the rest of the world.
Further up, there was a sign, welcome to Montenegro, but the control post came only a lot later, like a few kilometers away. There the guy made me open each of my five bags, oh well, but then I was in his territory - and with the lack of traffic, he must have been bored. Soon, I was rewarded by a beautiful view of the country, which could be called Monteblanche, for all the snow 🙂.
I decided to make it a short trip and found a perfect, 4-star hotel for just Eur 30 (breakfast included) in the town of Pljevlja. They were really nice, even washed all my stuff and even ironed it -for free! What a service!
First, I lay around a bit, then went to town for some soso-lala chicken, nothing too fancy. It was then that I discovered there is a lot more to this town, they had a large pedestrian zone, with a live concert going on in the evening. The town also boasts an impressive mosque from the medieval times.
I did only some 60 km that day...guess I was slacking...
